Cool height progression

That's a great combination with perferct height variances too! Let me guess, please, Achillea, Monarda didyma, and Verbena bonariensis.

Awesome photo! Really fantastic combination of plants and colors. Do hope you'll be sharing your butterfly photos as well as any eggs, caterpillars and chrysalids from your school's butterfly garden.

Good guesses! The achillea is Summer Pastels, the monarda is Jacob Cline and the dusty pink guy in back is asclepias incarnata.
I have the same yarrow planted at home, about 3 miles from the school, and it sprawled out and grew to only about 2/3 the height of the one pictured. Methinks this garden has good karma. :-)

Oh, I missed one. I didn't realize the asclepias incarnata grew that tall! I'm with Cat on raising some bf's. You could even have a bf release day that the whole school come share in. What a field trip that would be and you wouldn't even have to gas up the bus!

Great idea! We have theme weeks with parties and food and special activites all summer long and that would fit perfectly into the Back to the Garden (we are stardust, we are golden...we are a bunch of old hippies) week scheduled for mid July. Thanks for the thought. Want to write my lesson plans too?
