CLOSED: Anyone know any flowers with Brown

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Are there any flowers that have brown blooms. I want to try and find one for my DS. He has always wanted something with the brown but I can't find anything.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Some hibiscus do and they're very easy to grow in containers.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is "Chocolate Cosmos". I've never seen or heard of a Hibiscus with Brown Flowers ... would love to see one! Here's the link to Plant Files with info on the Cosmos:

They are an acquired taste, but what about Western Coneflower 'Black Beauty' (Rudibeckia occidentalis)? They're really dark brown, in my view, not black. Quite interesting, eye-catching and easy to grow.

Philo, OH(Zone 6a)

Beech drops but I think they only grow under beech trees.

Philo, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes and wild ginger but you can't really see them because they are under the leaves.

Carson City, NV(Zone 6b)

The native Brown's peony has brown flowers edged with orange or yellow, and large green seed pods. It likes to grow near pine trees. I collected some seed last weekend.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Makshi, I have some Rudbeckia 'Chocolate Orange' is that brown enough or did you want entirely brown? I can save you seeds if you want. Here's a pic (probably will be small because I cropped it out of a larger garden shot.)

Suzy,

I would love it if you saved me a few seeds. Did any of the cosmos live and bloom?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Yes they're alive -- most of them outgrew the attention of the bunnies! They haven't bloomed yet, but they have buds.

Here's a portrait of Chocolate Orange.
