Don't know which picture I like best - each subject is so good loooooooooking. What kind of farm are you running?

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

well my FIL has about 40 head and we only have the rooster left but getting him some hens soon, and 3 dogs and 3 aquariums with fish
plus we had some baby eastern blue birds ,her 2nd litter, but the snake has gotten both of them,my FIL just likes raising cattle i guess you could say maybe a hobby thing? he is retired and has to have something to do lol but he has been raising them for over 25 years,so he likes it pretty good my daughter(13) loves living on the farm and she helps him when he needs it,like help pulling a calf out of a cow,or helping running them into the corawl (sp) and giving them shots or worming them very peacefull here, thxs s omuch for asking

Sounds divine. Do you have milking or beef cows? I just got 4 chicks this year, so far they are just a delight. One of them is starting to look like a roo, can't keep roo's in the city..........makes me sad, he is by far my favorite, just chuck full of personality.

Nice herd. I have a bull just like yours and I got some decent calves from him. I'll bet you have good grass all year long. Is the southeast drought affecting your land? I live in the desert and have irrigation. I have great tall bermuda grass for about 9 months of the year as long as I keep alot of nitrogen on it. I just about break out even on my small herd after fertilizer, water, winter feed, and vaccines etc. The government says if you don't make a profit, it's just a hobby, but it feeds several families with great grass fed beef.
