Hi every one. Can some one tell me why my plants have light pink blooms and not red?All i can think is the soil i use has to much of something in it, But it is AV soil. thanks vicki
Red blooms
Vicki: What type of plants are you talking about? Are they African Violets, Episcia's or what? I have never seen an AV with truly red flowers ... usually they are more burgundy. I have seen Gloxinia's with red flowers though. It would help if you could post a photo of your plants that you are talking about. Wish I could be of more help. I have quite a few AV's that have light pink flowers.
Hi i dont have a camera. im talking about african violets powder keg bob sebrin. my tomahawk is red but some of these others are pale pink.
Jll,
Are you sure your plants are labeled correctly? You said Tomahawk is blooming red. Where did you purchase the plants that are supposed to be red and are blooming pale pink? I could suspect one of them 'sporting', but two seems unlikely. Any additional information you can supply would be helpful. Do you feed your plants?
'Bob Serbin" is supposed to have a semidouble red pansy blossom with thin white edge.
