Seems everywhere is getting rain but us, we sure need some to save our crops,Indianapolis got some this morning but again it bypast us, farmers are getting concerned.
WE NEED RAIN
We need it here also................BAD!!
I am so sorry to hear that. We had drought last year so bad wells were going dry boats were sitting on the bottom of river beds and you could only buy hay if you could prove you were a rancher. This year we have had an over abundance I'll never complain about too much rain again . it is usually so dry here I have been forced to install drip irregation on anything I want to live.
West half, and North of Indianapolis had plenty, they kept saying we would get it too but it went right past us, no sign of rain now untill the end of the week, if we are lucky.
We were needing rain and finally got a little less than an inch yesterday. It's to be very hot tomorrow, so that moisture won't last long. I sure hope you get some rain soon out your way, Gloria and Doris. Seems like the Midwest has had to fight to stay alive for several years now.
Oh Doris I will say a prayer for your area. Here too some counties are going on rationing. Makes summers so tough.
Hi Gloria! I hope you get rain too. What a shame!
I'm sorry to hear about your drought problems, Gloria and Doris. We went through the same problems last year and for most of 2005. It is so frustrating to see rain falling all around and none above you. I call our little spot, the Bermuda Triangle of Texas.
I'm sure all of us here in Texas would be happy to send you some of ours. Just remember to be careful of what you ask for.........
I can see by the weather reports that Texas is gettig plenty and keeping it all for themselves.......like flooding!
I have kept everything in pots watered and out of the hot sun, but did get 6 brugs planted in the ground in early May, put mulch around them, so trying to keep some moisture in the ground around them, nothing is growing fast. Hibiscus are blooming away, have 3 brugs with buds. Hoping for better weather soon.
Fort Lauderdale is under severe water restrictions. We are only able to water our lawns 1 day out of the week. It alternates between even and odd numbered houses which day you are allowed to water on.
Dry here in NNY too. We where promised rain for today, but it only lasted about 10 minutes. Just enough to change the dust on my windshield into mud. Looks like we could get some later tonight, but so far it has gone all around us.
So far no restrictions on watering.
Brenda and Gary, I hope you get some rain. When you do and you get tired of it, send it back this way by way of Gloria and Doris. When it is so hot and dry, it just makes the summer miserable. We are supposed to be pretty hot tomorrow. Hope you can at least have some cool temps while you suffer from lack of rain. Take care.
FINALLY!!! We got a downpour and then a good rain for about 30 - 45 minutes today. The last time it rained was June 5. Not nearly enough today, but anything is welcome, except for the 5 sprinkles we got the other evening. I hope you got some of the rain today too, Doris!!
indiana-lily I saw that on the news, sure glad you got it, it didn't come anywhere near us I would love it for my plants but even more so for the farmers, they are getting worried about the crops. I pray for the people that are having floods and trying to save their lives and belongings when we are praying for some of that rain here, the weather seems to have mad a drastic change everywhere.
Brugie I hope your feeling better these days, it sure is good to see you posting again, and I know DG has missed you.
Thank you Doris. I can't guarantee that I'll be here all the time because I do have work to do. LOL! I'll pop in when I can and keep my eye out for all the new brugs that people will have this year. I hope you have a wonderful summer....and especially hope you get some moisture soon.
Such strange weather, some parts of NNY have had floods, we are still having to water every day. We are in the upper 90's for a few days them drop into the 40's and 50's.
The weather is acting strangely here too. We had no winter that I would mention and spring started all too early. Flowers, bushes and fruit trees was from 14 days to a month ahead of a normal season. It was dry here too all winter long. We had raintwo days in april and a few days in may and may to june was like a hot, Danish summer. On the other hand, it suddenly began to rain shorter than a week ago but now it has stopped again. The rain blew up from Germany and was predicted to give 100 mm over the night. IRL we got 30-50 mm, but now it is hot again and alternating between cloudy and sunny and dry. I cross my fingers that we are all just experience a once in a lifetime strange year, but with the next few seasons will be better able to tell, if there are a new climate pattern under development. Personally, I would not mind to have palm beaches right outside my windows and sharks in the crystalblue water, but if that mean that the next generations is going to be hit in the back by meltingwater of the north- and southpole, then I will prefer to live in a less interesting environment and freeze my butt of every darn winter.
I hope that you will get some rain soon, Doris.
same thing here to tonny no winter to speak of paul
I'll be praying for you all to get the rain you need - no more, no less
Jackie
