Pump and out-of-pond filter

Houma, LA(Zone 9b)

This is our second summer with this pond and we are thinking about switching to a filtering system outside of the pond to make for easier cleaning. Any suggestions? The pond is about 1400 gallons in size.

Thanks in advance...

Hi very nice pond. I use an external filter for my pond it's an Aquadyne bead filter.

Here is a link.

I've had mine for 7 or 8 years and really like it.

I have 2 outside pumps and filters, sequence pumps and homemade dual barrel filters. Does the job.

Not sure what sort of suggestions you were looking for :(

I have both a Jabeo and a Sunterra filter....they have UV lights built inside and are available for between 99 and $150 on Ebay. The do a beautiful job, and are very easy to maintain and/or clean.

Yes, I run my pumps and filters all the time, and never give them a thought (except for a 1x every 2 to 3 weeks filter rinsing) All summer, all winter, all day, all night....they're quiet and haven't been a big burden as far as electicity. I feel it really stabalizes the water quality, as well as the oxygen levels, and I don't have as many problems with fish illnesses or algae.

do you do any extra cleanings in winter time since you leave it on all the time?
