Sambucus nigra 'Black Lace'

Plano, TX(Zone 7a)

Hi,

Does anybody know of a source in Dallas or Plano, TX for the Sambucus nigra 'Black Lace'? I am not sure how this does in our heat, or even if it maintains its black color in the south. Any information on this is greatly appreciated.

thanks,
xman

I don't know where you could find one locally, but this answers you question on whether it retains its color in the heat:

From the zones listed ( 4-7 ) I would guess it would prefer more on the shady side in the southern zones. It is a pretty plant tho. F6R22, if you should try it, please let us know how it does....

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

here is some info on Sambucus nigra http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambucus_nigra

am afraid it is not available in warmer areas

I bought my two at Wayside Garden's. I had them in pots before I moved to my new place. I put them in ground over here, but I think they are in too much sun, I am moving them to a shadier location.
