I love "daisy" like flowers of any kind. Coneflowers are especially nice since they can withstand drought. And drought has been pretty severe this year, begun since last Fall, in our area.
As far as I know, two Conflowers, White, and Pink (that are perennual) thus will come back faitfully every year. Plus the seedlings will come true to color. Those new hybrids, the 'sunset' or other cultivars, will they produce seedlings? Are they hardy, and come back as well?
CLOSED: Question for "conflowers" experts.
Here's a link to some info. It says the coneflowers are perennials and that the hybrid seedlings may not be true to color. thanks, julie

Wow Froggies-girl, that was a great information site! Thanks for sharing it with us.

I've tried to grow several of the new hybrids from seed. They all have bloomed pink.

Oh man! I have seedlings to 'sundown' and 'white swan' and they won't come true? I just love 'sundown"! Pink is a nice color lol
It's seems there is not much variant from the parent's to that of the seedlings on this particular one. It's difficult to tell on photos. The original one has a slightly larger cone? And the yellow hue is more crisp compared to the offsprings?
Hey Lilylove, hop on over to the perennials forum and there is a length thread going on about Coneflowers, FYI
Yes, right on both. The cone is larger on the mother plant and definitely the color is better. Thanks for responding.
Thank you, yotedog, I'll be on my way. :-), I therefore will close this tread. Thanks everyone for joining me.
