Yep, was out at the ranch and got to photograph this little bugger. I started taking stale cereal, peanuts and whatnot from the pantry when I drive out the back pastures.
Looks like a juvenile female ground squirrel. It would climb up on the tree branch, chattering and thumping its tail. Then it would stand up and make a "trill" sound as if wanting to know where everyone else was at. I could hear others "trilling" back in the distance.
Gotta admit it's a cutie!!!

..and saw two tarantulas. One on the highway and another near the driveway when I pulled up. Here's the ranch dog checking it out. Eeeeek!

I'd be in the house sealing the doors and windows, if I saw that spider. I'm not fond of spiders.
