bean leaf beetle

I found out I have bean leaf beetle. Once the leaf has been chewed and only the skeleton left, will the leaf regrow or do I need to replant?

I have never had bean leaf beetle in all the years I have been gardening. Do the beetles eventually go away or do I need to get rid of them? Any experts out there?

Do you have the Bean Leaf beetle (Cerotoma trifurcata) or the Mexican bean beetle(Epilachna varivestis) ? I have no experience with the bean leaf beetle, but once the Mexican bean beetle defoliates the plant they are pretty much done. They don't go away until cold weather. They also breed remarkably fast. Carbaryl works very well to control them, Rotenone also.
