Well it's pretty quiet so I thought I'd share some of the plants that have bloomed for me.
Starting with: Music Box Dancer
Enjoy,
MsC
Blooms to share...again
They're all so purdy, MsC!! I think Coral Sparkle Trail is my favorite. Love the simple flowers and that leaf shape. Reminds me of Allegro Appalachian Trail. :o)
This one is an oldie...Winter Warrior...it has such a smokey red bloom it was one of the large ones I grew in my lil experiment.
Just a note... notice the front leaf with the crease in it...it got stuck in the nice support ring & I didn't notice it until it was too late.:(

Scratch that favorite comment...Fisherman's Paradise is *definitely* my favorite! :o) If those are the 2nd best variegated, which is first? Tiger, I bet!
Love Cindy Ella, too! :o)
Well, MsC, it's past my bedtime...need my beauty sleep and all that. LOL Keep posting those bloom pics and I'll catch up with you in the morning! :o)
Hmm, hard to pick a favorite but I've been trying, I think I have to go with Ever Love for my favorite bloom although Sequins and Ribbons is a close runner up! Favorite foliage goes to the biggie, not because of it's size but because of the pretty way the green and white all goes together on that one. All of them are just beautiful MsC, good job and thanks for sharing!

My vote for favorites goes to Music Box Dancer. You have some wonderful blooms, MsC
Glad you enjoyed the pics...
My photograph skills need work...they just don't do them justice.
Music Box Dancers blooms were HUGE...very pretty
I think my favorite for variegated leaves is probable Wranglers Cowboy Blues...it has that intense pink coming through with soft lavender/baby bluish blooms..it's just scrumptious.
I still love the simple blooms of the S ionanthat though. It has been an easy bloomer for me too.
I like fisherman's paradise.
MsC, I really like the simple blooms of S. ionantha. I like a lot of the frilly multicolored blooms, and such, but there's just something about a simple, single, solid color bloom that's very stately and elegant to me. Sort of like at a party, where all the men are paying attention to the loud, flirty girls, and the shy beauty walks in and they're all left speechless. LOL
makshi.
That is a pretty one...are you still growing Av's???
Rain, ionantha is a great one to keep around..I love it.
I have some other simple bloomers too...I'll add those pics late & see if you like them.
MsC
Yes, I am growing a few. Just don't have room for anything like you have.
Well, good to have you here!
I don't have that much room anymore either...just very crowded shelves...lol
MsC
Crowded shelves are happy shelves! LOL Looking forward to seeing those pictures, MsC! :o)
makshi, please post some pictures of yours, too. You used to have some lovely ones, and I'm sure you still do. :o)
Well none of mine at the moment are blooming. Here is what happened to some of mine. I lost most of mine to some bug and I haven't been too happy since. I have six of the small plants for now because I lost the older ones. I just haven't had my heart in it. I really don't have very much room. If the only blooming one blooms again I will post it. It is B-Man Cosmos.
pretty, msC......is the first one a semi-mini or a trailer???
makshi,
I totally understand about your "heart" not being in it...that's the way last year was for me. I grew a lot of plants but I lost tons cause I just couldn't get it together...It's so nice to be back in the swing of things.:)
Gail no the first one is Music Box Dancer is a standard.. the next one is trailer. I love my trailers but they can take up a lot of room if you let them.
Standard seem to line up on the shlves like lil soldiers, so they look nice & neat....trailers seem to take a little more work but I do enjoy the challenge.
Are you growing any trailers yet??
MsC
Yes, I have quite a few trailers, but I like all members of the gesneriad family except the standards............they take up too much room especially when they get 10-12" across............am going to faze out of standards....except the ones i grow for the homebound of the church...........
I like the standards and so many of them are such beauties and the really big ones (Tiger!!) are just amazing but I had decided a few months back (shortly after discovering the semi minis) that I would concentrate on the smaller plants in order to have more of them! :0) I gave all but 5 of my standards away as gifts, they have really happy homes and I can visit. LOL
Then what to I do, I fall in love with the streps!! Unless I whack the leaves way back they certainly take up some room. But I guess the beauty of them is that even if you need to cut the leaves back you still get them blooms. And now due to the many enablers here :)))) I have order Kohleria and they can really get big!
Do we really need a guest room?? I think I'll give guests our bedroom when they come and then sleep on the couch.....that way I can have more plants, right? Do you think DH will agree? ROTFLOL
~Brenda
PS. Hmm, I forgot the fact that I have 16 baby standards left that I have raised from leaf, they are still little now but they won't stay that way, and I'm not giving them up until I see them bloom after raising them up from leaves. The need for some lighted shelves is becoming more and more apparent!!
Tome, the good things about streps and Kohlerias (chiritas, too) is that they can take more natural daylight and still do beautifully...............
Oh, that is so good to know about the Kohlerias Gail. I went on sheer impulse with that purchase from the beauty of the blooms! As you have seen natural daylight is not really a problem in my house, I have a lot of it coming in the big windows. And the streps do love it and do well for me!
The violets loved the light from those windows too for that matter. I moved my semi minis along with a few trailers out of the big windows as I wanted to put my hoyas there. But since doing that they finished up what blooms they had but have very few new ones. They are getting some good indirect light but obviously just not enough.
I bought a nice 24 inch grow light system down in Boise, now to get it set up and get my violets under it!!
