Aristolochia Serpentaria

I just received these from a grower in NE. He grows them rather than wild collecting them which I think is great. They were well packaged and I thought the price was fair. These are some big fat plants!

Maggie - Those look great!!! I'm very impressed with the healthy and large amount of roots! They should grow great for you! :-)

I'm so excited. they are tucked into a bed and watered and we are expecting storms too so we're good to go. I'll let you know how it turns out. He was really great about me micromanaging the shipping. It's been beastly hot here and he prefers to ship dormant plants but I (of course) wanted them now;-). They were lovely cool in the wet newspaper when they arrived. The soil and roots were moist, not slimy, not dry. Now if I could only get some trilobata and tomentosa, life would be complete.LOL

FWIW- I also ordered some from E-bay. Found out today they are wild collected:-(

Maggie - That's awesome! Do keep us posted on how they all do. I'd be interested to know the difference in growth between hand grown and wild collected. Thanks!

The native plant societys REALLY get grumpy when you take from the wild.....

Here are the ones I got on E-bay. You get what you pay for except I fear I'll forget to water these because I'll never find them. Oh well.

The ones from Rod Angeroth are wonderful, putting on new leaves already. they weren't what I would call expensive- it was a fair price and he doesn't wild pick them. E-mail addy for him is further up this thread.
