I have this large unknown Philodendron that I need to repot. I bought it at Home Depot about 1 1/2 years ago and it just said Philo species. I'm sure it's a very common plant since HD had lots of them at the time. I just love the large darkk green leaves and the reddish color on the stems. I must get it repotted into a nicer looking container than that old black plastic thing it came in from the garden center! I've been planning to pot it up for over a year and am promising myself I will get it done this week. I would love to be able to put a label on it, so I hope someone recognizes this one. Thanks so much!

Can someone help with ID?
Can't help with an ID Linda, but it's VERY pretty!

Thanks GH! It doesn't really matter if it doesn't have a name. Since joining DG last October, I thought I would label every plant in my household and wanted to get the correct name if possible. Sometimes that's not easy, I know! I am astounded to find out there are soooo many different types! And, some look so much like others and then the names change ....
No id, however gorgeous plant.
Thanks Sharon ... I just bought it cause I liked the looks of it. If I remember correctly it was only $14.99. I know it must be fairly common cause HD had a bunch at the time. So many with no ID ... just Philo. sp. written on the tag. I don't like paying a lot of money for plants cause I never know if they will survive! And, I have so many that I don't have time to "Baby" anything special that might require a lot of care. So far this one has been doing okay ... I've been needing to repot it for the past year or so and still haven't gotten it done. Made myself a promise to do it this week and it's not done yet. I would plant it in the ground, but I know if we have a cold winter it would be toast! And, I am not one into planting and digging up things to store during the winter like some folks do. I would put it in the ground and forget about it, I'm sure. :)
p.s. I gotta get my list to you for the houseplant swap!
