Missy's Law

I know that most of you have heard about the heinous crime that was committed in Benton, Arkansas, this past week. Missy, a Walker Hound, was taken from her home, skinned alive around her mid-section, then somehow made her way back to her home, where her owner found her as she returned home from work, underneath the porch, crying for help.

Missy was of course rushed to the emergency vet. Dr. Foggo advised that she be euthanized due to the extent of the injuries, and the pain that Missy was experiencing. He also noted that this was a deliberate act of cruelty.

There is a Yahoo group that has been established to make this horrible occurrence grab the attention of the people of not only the state of Arkansas, but the whole United States.

We feel that this horrible event can serve as a catharsis to open legislators' eyes to the fact that our laws concerning animal cruelty pretty much suck, and need to be updated, and punishment made much harsher.

Also, that people who do things like this are an endangerment to our pets, our children, and our personal well being. Perverts like this should not be allowed to live amongst us, period. We need to know where they live.
