I need rain at my place GRRRR. It went all around us yesterday but not on us.
Lavina
Good morning fellow gardeners, hope you got rain yesterday
LavinaMae, No rain here. It looked like it was going to rain, even smelled like it was going to rain (for a few minutes). But as I type this, I have the sprinkler running on some new plantings.
I am trying to water less this summer, our terrific extension agent says we all water way too much. Trying to heed his advice. But after 10 days with no rain....

After rumbling and grumbling for many hours the skies finally opened in the middle of the night and we got that requisite 1". WooHoo, I can turn those sprinklers off for a week!
I do try and go by the 1" a week rule but the big trees do not share well and sometimes I have to give the flowers a bit extra.
I've had the sprinklers off since Berry. Almost turned them back on but we got an inch or so last night and it's looks like we'll get more sometime here this morning. The last couple of weeks have been catching us up on rain. My lagoon is up about 4 inches and trees like my river birch are sending out lots of new leaves, nice. Last year my river birch dropped half their leaves in July and just didn't look well for the rest of the year and their in the lowest spot in my yard. Hope you all upstate get some rain.
We got 1/2" last night. I'm hearing thunder somewhere nearby now, so I hope that means there's more coming.
:)

We got another tenth of an inch last night. I LOVE this kind of weather and my plants do too! Sunny and comfortable (only 80 yesterday) all day and drizzly rain at night.
I got another 1/2 inch at least this morning. Things are looking better in the rain dept.
The rain is missing my neighborhood nothing but a few little drizzles since Barry. There is rumbling going on right now.Hope that means rain for us too..
I'm getting hit again. Nice. Good soak this morning with another this afternoon. To bad it didn't rain for something like two months this spring. Planted a bunch of stuff this year and nothing got off to a good start.
Lots of noise and only a few drops.Such is life.
Sorry DsB, we got another 1.5" this afternoon and nothing looks flooded at all. Very thirsty plants here. :-)))
Another 1/2" here today.
We'll send some damp thoughts up Surfside way!
Deb
Thanks Deb
Someone put an umbrella up over Surfside. It's plenty damp but no rain.
Rain at last! Rain at last! It's only in the 70's here today...think I'll get some planting in. I've still got some cool stuff from you Lavinia...Got just the place for it:))
