Well, you see, I had these Amorphs sitting around. And I had some Caladiums and Begonias and plenty of pots and promix. LOL
I've been playing with my plants...
Y'all are a hard audience! LOL
I moved my Monstera to a much bigger pot today and hubby helped build a new support to put in the bottom.
My next job is to pot up some Xanadu for myself. I may find a BIG pot and put three in there until they take off.
LOL Chele! I just found this thread. Everything looks great! You'll have to come back and post when they fill out. I especially love your begonias.
Can you keep your Xanadu outside?
LOL Brinda! Hey, I'll take a guilt reply or a slacker reply. ;) I realize the pots are not that fascinating but I'm thrilled to have a bunch of them!
None of the Philos are hardy here. :(
Oh Chele, I think the pots are very fascinating! You should post those on the Container Forum. I would love to see them in a few weeks when they are filled in.
I know the Philos aren't hardy there, but I was wondering if you were able to keep the Xanadu outside for the summer? Do you keep it in the shade?
You are too nice Brinda! I'd only potted them a day or two before the pics so I hope they do something nice! I may go back and stick in some coleus or sweet potato vines since I still have quite a few.
I move all the philos out for the summer and bring them back in the fall. The Monstera and my other unnamed are out there now. The Monstera can take mostly sun with ample water. It's the wind I have to watch. I have the unnamed in early day sun then shaded. I still need to drag out a pot for the Xanadu and pot it. I had to break the Monstera pot to get it off. LOL
I have about 60 Xanadu in my shade house and they are doing great~!
Oh Chele, coleus is my answer to anything where I need a filler! LOL And I have plenty! My DH says I should have my head examined...LOL But what does he know???? I use coleus and caladiums to fill most all my pots.
LOL Is coleus NOT the perfect plant???
I'm in the process of redoing the pond and I have pots sitting all over where the garden will be expanded. It looks really stupid. LOL But I am patient and I have vision. I just need financing. ROTFLOL Why do dirt and rocks have to cost so much??
Oh Girlfriend....I hear ya! I need a loan too if you find a good source!
LOL I was just thinking....we should have called each other about this thread....would have been quicker, since we're the only two chatting! teehee!!!
Please, make sure you share your new garden expansion.
What a difference a week makes! I just realized I posted the same container on another thread. It is the urn with the naked spot in the center, above.

Hello ladies. Well Chele, long time no see. How are you?? How many beautiful kids do you now have? I may have missed a couple.
So what is Xanadu? I am Xanadu-less. It looks like it would spread. Does it do anything exciting?
At least you are potting yor plants up, Chele. Brinda and I are having a hard time getting it together to get ours all done. Yours look great. I see your amorphophallus love you. Mine hate me.
HELLO KELL!!
You didn't miss any kids smarty pants! I still have six. LOL
Xanadu is a Philodendron. I'm nuts about Philos! Want 1? 3?? http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/59808/index.html Read the reviews at the bottom. They might like it there. :)
I am seriously trying to get stuff planted and get rid of the excess! We have been having a drought and I may need a loan to pay the water bill. Ahem.
I didn't really do anything with the Amorphs. Stuck them in the greenhouse until they sprouted then potted them up in the shade. Maybe you are giving yours too much love. It's a tough garden world around here.
Nice to see ya!
Hi Ladies,
I love your pics, Chele. Do post more as they fill in... Kell, I think you could put yours in full sun, up that far north. My konjacs LOVE full sun, even in KS. . . would certainly give it more warmth. (pond garden expansion) - I love the sound of that, Chele, bigger pond? or just more plants around the pond? You are an inspiration (the plant part, my baby is almost 18), all the plants you have and 6 kids on top of it? Are you Super-woman?
You must be slowing down, Chele. Have 6 kids finally taken its toll? LOL, a lesser woman would have caved years ago.
Well the Xanadu is so cool. A mini leafed philo!!
I think my problem is I have no GH. Here it is cooler ( days in the low 70s, nights in the 50s and 60s) and low humidity. The huge one I had in my hoophouse bloomed back in March before I took it down for the summer. I was thrilled. It hasn't put out any leaves yet so I am getting worried. I kept it almost totally dry, is that bad? I need to dig down and feel it. I am so afraid of rotting them, I do not water then after a month I am so afriad I am drying them to death I half heartedly water them. I have no clue what I am doing.
Hi AuntB, should I move them to full sun even though they have not sprouted? And then leave them dry? I have more kinds than Konjac. I jumped into these with both feet and now I am drowning. LOL
Anyway Chele, pronounced chill lay! LOL! It is always good to see you. I do not know why I never see you anymore. I need to stop in here to this forum more I guess. Are you still hanging out in daylilies too?
Hello AuntB! I'm expanding little ponds around the big pond plus the beds! Did I clear that up??
Trust me Kell, I'm withering and you just can't see it. LOL
Xanadu actually gets biggish leaves but it's not a climber. It would be more like 'shrub' for you. The plant maxes out at around 3'x3' but it does get bigger leaves. http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/63611/
You probably don't see me much because I bounce around her like a ping pong ball these days. :)
Chele, I just love your Monstera & Xanadu!
I thought for sure I had responded to this around the 19th! Hmmmm? Wonder where my head is?
Do you think Kell is rubbing off on me? LOLOL
Kell, my Konjac is doing great! I'm in love with it too~!
Thanks Brinda! I kinda wish I lived somewhere that Monstera could climb trees though. :) I guess the Xandu will be a pretty houseplant or go somewhere warmer. I did laugh at myself for putting a pole in it though. I forgot it would not climb. LOL
Your post either went to cyberspace or umm, you forgot to hit send. chuckle
