Have: Old fashiond rooted purple lilac bushes

U.P., MI(Zone 5a)

Hi Everyone,
I have been sharing my extra lilacs with a few friends and just thought I'd see if anyone here needs any old fashioned purple lilacs. I would love to trade for any perennials that would do good in zone 5, also any pond plants for my new pond, I have yellow water iris already. Please check out my want list. I will include 5 or so lilac starts for each trade.

Thanks,
Sue

Hi Sticks,
I have a very ancient lilac tree and every spring it get a gazillion baby lilacs growing around it. I just dig them up and made sure each baby has a lot of roots. I have shared these with many many people over the years and they have had very good luck growing them. Thanks for asking :)

Hi there...if still available, I'd love to trade!! I'm from Michigan as well and some of my fondest memories are of waking up on summer mornings to the lovely Lilac tree growing right under my window!
How about a Mirabilis Jalapa plant? You can dig the roots up after fall and save until the next spring...

you know one of my traders pointed out that I didn't mention how large these plants are. They are 2 year old suckers and the height is anywhere from as high as my knee, to as high as my thigh, lol. How"s that for a description.
I have to tape 2 of the priorty boxes together to mail them out.
Thanks for letting me update and thank to everyone for the wonderful trades!

Hi, Glamourpuss:) Your bareroot, rose scented geranium went out today, will be there by Thursday at 3pm. (That was the fastest I could send it). Also sent you D-mail, but if you're rooting lilacs (smile) you probably already know how to transplant, as well.
Hoping you have a lovely summer!

Hi Sue,
I live in California so I have mostly cactus and succulents. I do have a large Lavendar bush I could take some cuttings from but not too sure how much to cut off. I would love to have the Lilac if you could see if I have something to trade. Right now I am racking my brain to see if I have forgotten anything , I take for granted around here. I would be most happy to buy you something you might enjoy, you name it and I will buy it. I would so love one of these plants.
Thanks,

I'm sending lotus seed separately in the mail, in about a week, as a "thank you" Glamourpuss. Mine have sprouted, and I'd like to ship you a couple seedlings, but I don't know how one ships live water lotus. I'm thinking they're sent in water, but I don't know how I could do that other than in a bottle, maybe, probably not a good idea. I finally realized how to get the seed to sprout. Soak em a couple of weeks n take them out of the water and use a wood rasp or file on them, being careful not to go to deep. Drop em back in and they sprout in about a week. The seeds I'm sending you will be of a pink variety, soon as it arrives from Hirt's Gardens.
Cyra
PS. Do you know how one ships water lotus seedlings? I thought of dropping one into a plastic soda type bottle and shipping that, but you'd have to cut the bottle off to get the plant out, when it arrives. They're shaped like spears, they'd go in a bottle, but probably wouldn't come out of one easily, w/o breaking.

I'd love some of the lilacs. I can send giant elephant ears, giant white calla, or lizard's tongue for you pond. thanks, julie

Citra, FL(Zone 9a)

glamourpuss, for trade I have liatris spicata, ajuga chocolate chip, Coronation Gold yarrow, Moonshine yarrow, nepeta Walker's Low and Blue Hills Giant. More perennials, but none I'll be digging until fall.

Central Valley, CA(Zone 9b)

Dear Glamourpuss, please excuse this duplicate note, but it was easier than typing twice, just got in from work last night, and am tired.
Your lilac babies, (suckers?) sprouts are soaking, and their holes are dug and filled with water. Thank you so very much! Btw, I forgot to ask what color these are:)
I'm so looking forward to a couple of springs from now....I'm already homesick for the scent...and picturing bouquets of lilacs and cabbage roses....
Btw, in German, lilacs are called Flieder, and there's actually a German song about the lilac season, "Wenn der Flieder wieder bluht"=transl. When the lilacs bloom again.
