I went outside this morning to be greeted by a few new hib flowers yet unseen by me. This is a new favorite. "Creole Darlin" from DuPont nursery. Huge flower on a small plant so far.Has a funnel form flower for now but will see what it does later in the day.Already crossed by Sunny Wind flower.(yellow / red eye)
I love this one beeg time!
Kyle
I'm as happy as a hog in slop now..
I can see why you're so happy! Just beautiful - I hope my little new one gets some buds soon :-)
Man that flower looks HUGE!!
Great colors too.
:~)
Pretty. I love the dark wine/red eye with the pink.
Brugie did any of your other kinds bloom yet?
Sunny Wind is very pretty - you're gonna love Rosalind, she's my #1 in amount of constant blooms :-)
Creole Darlin is blindingly pink! Would love that in my yard.
I just planted 6 into the ground. I lightly watered them and loaded them with rubber mulch. It'ssupposed to rain today, so that should help them alot :)
Oh Kyle, you are just killing me. So pretty! So big. I have been trying to get my yard in shape after goofing off for so long, but now you have me wanting to get more of these right away. LOL.
Break out the check book!! LOL most of my new ones were from DuPont
Kyle, I want to thank you very much for the rooted starts you brought me a couple of weeks ago. You have always brought such nice plants when you visit and you will never know how much I appreciate them. Every single one of them is growing like a weed. You are so lucky to have the facilities and plants for taking and rooting cuttings. You know you are welcome to cuttings from mine if you don't have some of them....however I highly doubt there are many you don't have. LOL! Your collection is superb. Thanks again for helping push my new addiction to hibiscus along. You're the best.
And who says money can't buy you happiness!! My checkbook is open and ready to be emptied. LOL
I need to go look at Dupont then if you recommend them. Any other places you like? I did buy 3 big plants at Armstrongs yesterday but they are not special like yours. I was just so hot to get some after seeing your great pics. I need to go see David too but he is a couple of hours away.
*sneeking in and stealing Kell's checkbook and Kyle's "Creole Darlin"*
decisions, decisions, decisions.....

Kyle,
Love the flower, she's a keeper! I'm wondering which leaf form you have. I have C'est Bon from Dupont and the leaf is very different from my other tropical hibiscus. The leaves are very rounded. It also seems to be a very "floppy" form. As a matter of fact, my local nusery had some of these growing in huge hanging baskets. Very dramatic and different. I really can't decide if I like it or not. I'm not quite happy with it in my hibiscus bed as it looks rather out of place.
Oh Ladibug, take pics of the hanging ones at the nursery!!
LOL MG, you better hurry for I was back out today with my checkbook and it is almost on empty. LOL!
I am so bad. I lost some of my potted standard bougainvilleas in our bad winter so I have been going nuts on them. They have such new ones out too I can't resist every standard I come across. I have bought about 6 so far, far more than I lost. I bought another one today that was not even in flower but it had such a huge head and thick trunk I could not resist. I am on my way out to sneak it out of my car now. LOL
I just love the new bi-colors!
