I am looking to move-perhaps this year and would like to take some of my spring bulbs (Glory of Snow, Squill, special daffys and tulips etc.
Can I dig and store dry now?
Last year I potted up my tigers, just in case we moved this spring.
Not knowing makes plant planning difficult, but am going to do my best to take as much as possible, and not leave goodies to be tilled under for lawn.
I am in zone 4/5-the garage is unheated and I don't have a root cellar or cold frame.
Any help appreciated.
Spring bulbs-can I dig now?
6 weeks from time of bloom is ideal, and I believe you are getting very close to that now. Yes, store them all hot and dry. Outside in a shed or hanging in the garage.
When you dig them, keep all the varieties separate and put them in mesh bags or sacks and hang them if you can.
