Have: Catnip & Motherwort

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

I have catnip plants that need to go. These are big and may need to be trimmed to be mailed. Make offers or postage.

I also have some small motherwort plants. These grow fast!

How are you growing your mothewort plants? My seed never seems to sprout! I'll happily send 10$ for postage, if you think that's reasonable. Do you have Paypal, where I could send it fairly quickly to you?

I've tried growing the catnip from seeds and bought plants but no matter where I put them, my cats always find and devour them. LOL

It's a done deal, you've been emailed & Paypalled:) And thank you, btw.

Glad you could use them, Cyra. I'll package it up and send it out tomorrow.

Budgie, would you like some? I have BUNCHES.

Budgie, maybe you could try planting your catnip in containers, with wire mesh around them....next to a strong smelling plant (to disguise their scent), such as tomatoes or pennyroyal...
And whatever you do, don't brush against or break any of the catnip stems...it releases the scent of the plant for cats. Mine are being grown with tomatoes as a "cover" plant, this year; no problems so far. I have two female cats, plus a feral local female cat, who are attracted to these plants, and have always flattened them before, by rolling on them. I also have an orange fem. tabby, that (thankfully), isn't attracted to it. My tomatoes aren't doing worth a darn this year, but the catnip is doing wonderfully!
And thank you, CaptMicha, I'm really looking forward to the babies. Are you growing them in semi shade or cool temps, or full sun? And in what type of soil? Here it'll be 99-100+ all week and we're only allowed to water every other day, *so I was going to plant them in my shadiest (&coolest) bed, with a light mulch...
Thank you for your trouble, and if there's anything in my tradelist you'd like, please let me know, ok?

*water conservation due to drough, watering is limited to 3 days per week.

Full sun! No watering! It stays about 100 all week once we really get into the summer. They grow in any type of soil. I think we have alkaline but I've never tested it. They get what ever mother earth gives them. You'll just need to keep the ground moist until they settle in.

And no catnip, right?

Well, I have catnip, but I wouldn't turn it down. Sometimes if you cross pollinate plants from widely separated strains; you end up with a hardier variety. But only if you have no other takers, I don't wish to deprive anyone of any that doesn't have it:)
And thanks! I'll remember-full sun, any 'ol soil.
