Suggestions for texas hot all day sun containers??

my petunias and geraniums are being french fried by the texas sun....
besides lantana, cactus, and marigolds....any ideas for full texas sun container plants? that look kinda cottagey?
i have already posted over there....

I have very good luck with vincas in any color, verbena, rosemary for texture, also Mexican heather, million bells, and curlicue sage (artemisia). As long as the million bells don't get too dry, they do well in full sun here in Dallas.

Last year I did a kind of textural thing with succulents that was really pretty and did VERY well in full sun. I'd do it again if I hadn't already planted up that pot with something else that's still thriving.

No fragrance I can pick up. I just put my nose into a hanging basket of 'em. Nearly sucked in a bee, but didn't smell any fragrance. :-)

Esperanza would look GREAT in a container! It's a shrub, but would do well in a container. Also, several herbs would do well in containers. I've even seen daylilies in deep containers that did very well.
