Hi All,
I have built an incubator but i am unable to locate a suitable temprature control unit.
I have tried to use a simple kit that i found on the internet but it is not acurate enough.
Can anyone recomed where they got hold of their temp control system.
Where can i salvage somthing from.
Thanks Chris

Welcome to the forums..
Temp should be at 100 to 101.
Or use a 40 watt light bulb..
This should help you out..

You might want to check out backyardchickens.com they are a fountain of information for hatching !! Including a lot of folks building their own units, you might get the answer you're looking for a little quicker there.
Both that I built I simply used a dimmer switch but no thermostat in either, one was an aquarium and the other was a foam box. I also have a simple hovabator as well. I found a slight variance in temp is ok, actually had a power outage and my temps dropped drastically but I still had some chicks hatch with that batch. A lot of folks install a small fan similar to a computer fan to help keep the temps more regulated.
If you can keep the room the bator is in at a constant temp it is a huge help !!!! What are you wanting to hatch...chickens, ducks ??
Good luck
