Is this Hibiscus Hamabo or Hib. Moscheuto?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Here is a hibby tagged Hamabo. However, when I google Hib. Hamabo, I keep getting pics of a hib syriacus white with maroon eye. Anybody out there than can identify this plant?

I just hate it when I post and then somehow forget to press the send button. Then I go crazy looking for the thread and nothing!

thanks for your help

That is the same as the one I bought as Hamibo. Got mine from Woodlanders and I do trust them as to which plant is which.

Mine is not blooming yet but I did see some buds on it the other day. I hope they are still there; we just had a microburst blow through with 60 mph winds, there are leaves and branches everywhere.

This looks alot like a "Sea Hibiscus" or
Hibiscus tiliaceus.Does the flower color change from yellow to orange by the end of the day?If so this could be it.

Mine never changed to orange but stayed a pale yellow. However, Woodlanders does say Hamabo is known to be hardy in Florida. Makes you wonder........

This is an old photo of the first flower mine ever had.

Mine is in an area without irrigation and although it looks quite healthy it has not gotten terribly big over the past year. If we ever start getting some regular rain again I suspect it will fill out more.
