Am hopping over here from the Butterflies and Hummie forum. Got a question for ya'll brug growers.
I have two varieties (not sure of the names though...one is solid white the other a peachy salmon color) growing in my yard and this is the first year I've noticed they have seed pods. Question is...when do I harvest the pods/seeds? The pods are still green...will they turn brown and fall off or pop open?
Here's a photo of one of the seed pods...and will follow with photos of the blooms.

ps...there are several pods on the peachy salmon plant and more on the white one. Looks like I'll be having plenty of brug seeds soon enough??? If anyone is interested in seeds let me know when I can harvest them and I'll be happy to share.

When to harvest brug seed pods?
Lucky you, they take a long time to mature so don't pick them too soon, I usually wait until the stem turns brownish, or you can tell by the feel of the pod, I am sure someone with more knowledge than me will be in to answer question.
Please keep my name in mind for seeds when you collect them. Thanks.
Doris
You'll have plenty of takers for seeds (Me!Me!). This is only my second summer of brugs and I'm now up to 3 bought as fairly good sized plants, and two that I've grown from seed that are still pretty small. Good luck with your pods!

Thanks ya'll...I'll keep checking on them. Am thinking with our hot south Texas days the pods will mature faster??? Will let ya'll know when they're ready to share :o) And if anyone know the names of those two brugs...do let me know. I got them as 10 inch cuttings in a plant trade two years ago.
