If others are willing to donate the prizes, I'll do the calls. That sounds awful of me, but I say that because whatever it was that killed so many of my AVs is something I don't want to spread (pretty sure it was crown rot, which is evidently fungal). I sent out a box of (seemingly) healthy plants and leaves from (seemingly) healthy plants to someone right about the time I found out what it was, but if I had known what was going on, I never would have sent those. She treated them with everything and then some, and has had them for a while and hasn't said anything about a problem with them, so I'm not worried about hers, but knowing what I know now, I'm not willing to send Gessie materials right now. I'm bleaching everything that has anything to do with my plants and just generally doing everything I can to eradicate the problem, so, if all goes well, later in the year I'll feel comfortable donating prizes. I can't afford to offer a gift certificate right now, either, but I've got other houseplants I could send cuttings of as a last place prize, and some of those are Gessies. Most of them are outside now, so that might be a negative factor for some of you. I might have a book or something I could offer as a prize, instead. I'll just have to look. And, I can't promise I'll do the calls at the same time each day.

So, if all that is acceptable to everyone, I'll do the calls and start looking through my books to see if I've got anything that might work for a prize. If nothing else, maybe it's better than no bingo at all. LOL Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves and let me know. :o)

Everybody else, put in your opinion about whether you'd like me to do the calls or someone else. I promise not to get my feelings hurt if you'd rather that I didn't. :o)

My understanding on the May bingo thread was that most av people were going to be too busy to play......it is sooo much more fun when people who love the gessie family play.......when we don't get enough people to play , other forums play just for fun (which is fine)......but I love to think that winners of an av bingo are av growers....just my opinion.....

RainGazer, you don't need anyone else's permission to do anything!!!!! Do exactly what you want to.....or can do......I don't know why makshi is miffed????????

I think Makshi had volunteered, and we didn't see it or realize she was willing to host as well. So please don't anyone get their feelings hurt...it is not hard to host, or hold the cards, it is a lot of fun, so please everyone, try to do it at least once!

She worded it like she was asking someone else to speak up, though.

well, to avoid hurt feelings, we each need to say what we do or do not want to do.....we are adults.....I didn't realize that Makshi had volunteered.....................She can respond with, "I have already volunteered to do this, but thanks, RainGazer"......this way everything is out in the open and not wondering why someone is upset.....

makshi said if no one else speaks up, she'd do it. I thought that meant she still wanted someone else to do it, but if they just wouldn't, she'd run it. I spoke up, but then couldn't understand why she said "you all" as if she wouldn't be playing. I'll retract my offer and makshi, or whomever would like to can run it this month. I'll do it some other time when I feel that I can offer plants. :o) It doesn't matter to me, I was just trying to help facilitate a game. I didn't know there had already been discussion of not even having a June game, as I didn't play May bingo, and therefore, didn't read the thread. I don't want anyone to be upset.

OK I'll do it. :o) We'll need a card holder, and I'll need to get the call list ready, and we need to decide on a date to start the game. Have to give a few days for everyone to get their cards in to the card holder, too, but I don't know that we need a full week for that. If I can get the call list posted early today, and a card holder volunteers, I think we could start on Saturday. How does that sound?

Those who want to donate a prize, please dmail me with what you're offering so I can post it on the info thread.

I'm going to start another thread for signups and general info.
