Here's few pics I've been trying to get posted & shared .
I hope to have room somewhere here in the new home to get babies to share.
I wonder if the mail service is any good here????
On to the show...
1st up FUNAMBULE... it's one of my oldest surviving AV's & it's great.
MsC
OLD BLOMERS...
Last but never the least Sinningia NOID.... "I'm so pink" but my mommy loves me just the same...
working on getting some seeds to share...cross those fingers & toes ladies.:)
Enjoy,
MsC
Ok MsC .... Where's that Sinningia Noid?
Love W. Cowboy Blues ... really handsome! And ... Funambule! Wow! Pretty flower but, I am loving variegated foliage!
That is a pretty Sinningia! I love planting in jars and making little terrariums! And, from what I've read here on DG a lot of Gessies do well in those conditions! Do you put a lid on that one, plastic wrap?
Yep, Lin I do put tops on all of my terrariums...some have plastic wrap but I make lids for lots outta " whatever is clear & laying around"...
I mostly use the clear lids off coffee cans cause I drink tons of the stuff so i always have plenty of tops. Some folks poke a hole in the tops but I never have.I think it defeats the purporse. Now I do lift the lid from time to time if it looks like it's heating up to bad.
I also started buying cookie jars w lids at WalMArt & fish bowls casue they were cheap!
I have tons of these terariums around here & the gessies worked great for them. also use lots of small leaved plants too...
Yep ... I buy those Glass Containers from Wal-Mart too and I have a couple of other glass containers with lids that I can't remember where I got them. I have a 10gal Terrarium hubby got me for my birthday in March that I planted up ... but heat builds up in there so I have to lift the lid a lot so the plants don't fry. Here's a pic of some of my "Plants Under Glass" Glass:
Lin, Those look fabulous! I'd say your a kindred spirit!
Don't worry about the living in look of the desk...that's the way homes are supposed to be...LIVIED IN.
I have a few spots here that always look like I've been there a while.:-)
MsC
I just noticed that the subject is not exactly right...lol
Blomers??? I meant BLOOMERS...
UGH! no wonder me & Lin are the only ones here...
MsC now admits she can neither spell nor type!
hee hee ... I have always been a good speller, but hey I didn't even notice that! LOL I woulda known what you meant anyway!
Years ago my house was always so clean you could eat off the floors .... the older I get, the worse I get! I can remember working full time, very long hours and if company was coming I would be up til 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. scrubbing floors! Not anymore! I haven't worked in 15 years and most of the time everything is pretty neat, but there's a lot of dust. Now, my closets are another story ... they are kinda like the cartoon where you open the closet door and stuff falls out at you! Truly! I have a bad habit of shoving stuff in closets! I have such a great husband ... he is wonderful about running the vaccum! I don't let him cook much though and never let him do laundry! I do the yard work most of the time. He teaches and is off right now - won't go back to work til Summer B term starts the end of June, so he's done all the yard work the past few weeks!
I can spell but my typing is awful....lol I'm very slow to...lol
Yeah, I know about housework... never did get a good grip on it w/4 kids & all the animals now the kids are grown & the animals are still here but they have their own room so it's just me & hubby to pick up after...
I do all the yard stuff , cooking ,cleaning & animal care plus some office stuff for him ~he brings the $$ home, does the laundry & throws a fit if he sees me near the clorox..lol
He believes laundry is an exact science one that I just don't get.:)
No more pink undies for him:)
MsC
The pink sinningia is a cutie!
I recently unpotted all my terrariums so I suppose I could find some time (maybe) to pot them back up again. What to put in them......
That is a pretty one... it doesnt have an ID and the original was very pale pink...Originally I was hoping it was that pink eumorpha I was falling in love with but I think it's just a pretty lil NOID???
I love my sinningias & grow all but Freckles in terrariums.
When I went looking for the strep seeds for Amy I found some seds you sent ,me last year...it was such abad year I total forgot about them.
I wonder if they sprout???
MrsC
is the throat on that sinn white? spotted? Can't tell through the glass.......
And how blue is that wrangler?
Let me go see about the throat on the sin... yes that Wranglers Cowboy Blue is almost baby blue...it's a beautiful variety and grows nice & flat very symetrical...it's been a good bloomer for me too.
Gonna check the throat on the sin....
Ok well none of the pics I have are clear enough to see but I put my magnifier on it and the throat is the same color as the outer lips w/ a hint of yellow...now if my memory serves me, I think yes there are a few spots in the lips but not heavy... next time it blooms for me I'll get a clearer pic.
MsC
I noticed the flat neat foliage on Cowboy Blue. I love foliage like that. And thanks for checking the Sinn's throat.
There is one way to find out if the seeds will sprout!
okay, I'm off to bed. Another looong day tomorrow.
Nighty nite...
Darn! I had a whole post typed up and went to look at the picture of the Sinn again and lost it! Grrr....
I've been waiting on pictures from you, MsC! Funambule is spectacular! Love the Wrangler's, too, but I'll have to admire yours from afar. Every Wrangler's variety I've ever tried to grow has died in short order. Can't even propagate the leaves. How about your 'Green Pastures'? That was the monster, right?
Maybe I'll move some of my Sinns to terrariums. Yours seems to be quite happy there. It's a lovely little thing! I think I'll work on some terrariums today. Ya never know what I might come up with. LOL I just need more well-lighted space for them. They take up too much room on my light stand. Lin, yours are beautiful, too! Y'all sure do create a lot of extra work for me posting pictures of all these pretty projects! ;o)
Amy, I ran through the new posts earlier this morning, and just how many plant projects do you have going today? roflol.
Roughly a hundred...give or take...you see how well I'm accomplishing them, too, don't you? LOL
Somehow I missed the whole thread.....love pictures.....make my day!!!!!
Gail we missed you being here...Lin has some great terrariums doesn't she!!!
Key,
That Wrangler's is a little more on the lucious lavendar side...but it's not purple...lol It is stunning and my photos don't do it justice! That plant is about a year or so old and really a keeper.
The sinnigia has another bloom on it & I'll double check it. It came from my friend & she is the worlds worst at keeping things named properly. I didn't really care though cause it was so pretty.
MsC
Amy the monster plant you remember is probable my "Tiger"...Wrangler's Green Pastures was big too but I'll add a new pic of "Tiger "just for you...
