How about we start a new thread for daily new photos now that things are really getting started? Whoever posts first for the day can start the new thread and date it. OK? We do that on daylily forum and it makes it easier to see all the new photos each day without having to hunt. Here is my first Lollipop lily.

June 2 2007 photos. Add yours!!
Well, I went and got the photos, but they were closeups like Susan's first one in the thread. I'l get some landscape shots tomorrow. My shots will not compare to the others posted....your gardens are always wonderful and such a broad selection of older plants. I stripped mine almost bare last year and am starting over, so it's very basic at this point.
This is a really nice white peony that has loads and loads of side blooms. It lasted for 10 days in a glass of water at my desk without any petals dropping loose which must be a record. Lots of substance on this one, but it was a pressie and the friend didn't have a name.

Chris, I forgot to say that I have a similar set up going with the peony and the droopy-thing (Nectaroscordum) but your foxgloves are way better than my 3rd thing, which is Asiatic lilies which don't bloom for another couple of weeks, at least. I'm pretty sure I have some room in there for Foxgloves if I squeeze them in. Are those a certain kind that bloom early? My foxgloves (actually just one) just bloomed today, but the peony was finished about 6 days ago.
Susan, I have never heard of Mitterdorfii daylily, but if it blooms this early, I will be on the lookout for one!

Here is a link to a page with photos of some of the species daylilies. It amazes me that all the fancy ones we have today started from these very simple daylilies.

How long does the gilia bloom Suzy? Looks like a great plant to fill in spaces.
Chris, it looks like foxgloves do very well for you. I'm trying a couple new ones this year, but so far have not been very successful in getting them to come back. Is that a perennial geranium on the far left of the photo with the peony? Very pretty.
Suzy,
Maybe your peony is just an earlier blooming variety. I have one that is finished blooming too. My front yard has full sun so the foxgloves out there are a little ahead of the ones in shady areas. Finally after several years of trying I have foxgloves reseeding all over and I pretty much let them choose where they want to be. They all come from a couple of plants I bought several years ago. I think they're just the standard digitalis purpurea.
