Blooming now

Not sure which one it is. I have had it for a couple years and now it is blooming. Pretty colors. i have it on my porch.

It's probably an Aechmea, but I don't know the species (or it could be a hybrid). If you have time go to http://fcbs.org and look through the Photo Index.

Oooh, looks like gamosepala or one of its hybrids. I have the small and large version; the small ones already bloomed for me. It's one of my favorites.

I've got something that looks very much alike and I will add some photos of the flower so you can compare. My Bromeliad is called Aechmea 'Del Mar'.... So if it basically looks the same, I'm assuming that could be what it is~!!

Similar but not quite the same. Are you sure yours is Del Mar? It looks so much like one I have called Blue Tango

Del Mar is a hybrid of Blue Tango.

Mellie, I agree with you. A. gamosepala has been a favorite of mine for many years. Pretty flowers, long lasting inflorescence, fairly hardy and no stickers on the leaves. Can't beat that.
