Question egg in incubator
Eggs do move in the incubator. When it's close to hatching time they are getting into postion and that will rock the egg. Also once they start to hatch which can be a long process all that tapping inside the shell.
I know when I candle an egg early to midway on you can see the movement and the heart beating sometimes.
How old is the egg , do you know when it is due to hatch??? Have you candled it to see how far along it is ??

Julie,
The egg is due to hatch on june 18,07 Two days before my Birthday I will be 32 on June 20Th...
I have candled it and it was very very cloudy all throw the egg..

I have 16 or so guinea fowl in my incubator right now. I candled them last night and they are really moving around, and they are about half way there. They will be at 14 days on saturday.
If they egg was moving (physical around in the incubator) it might have just been because it was rolling around because it is alone in there, walking by it etc could shake it.
When you get your new eggs make sure you let them set before you put them in. I unpack mine, set them in an egg carton small end down and store them in a closet overnight. I read this help the egg settle. So far its worked for me, my first hatch, 4 out 6 silver sebrights, my second hatch 11 out of 13 good eggs (I was shipped 18, a couple cracked) and so far with the guineas I was sent 20 and 16 (I believe that was my last count) are wiggle around in there. I roll my 2 times a day sometimes three. I think I am doing pretty good with shipped eggs!
I am not sure how much you can see at a couple of days, wait till day 10 or so.
Good Luck!!

Day 6 in the incubator and its still coming along just fine... But I was wantting to know when to candle it next ???
How do I look for movement in the egg or a hart beat????
Tracey
I usually see a dark small bloob and lots of spiderweb like red veins. I am not sure if the dark bloob is the chicken or just part of it. I am not sure how long between candlings you should wait. I wouldn't think it would harm it if you candled it again, maybe someone else knows different. Good Luck
This should help.

Okay... Im going to ask a really dumb Qustion now!!!! Hart, How do I post a Hyperlink ??? I see you and others doing it to help someone out and I have no idea how to do it!!! Help please!
Just copy it and then paste it into your post. DG magic does the rest.
Question throw out the egg is all cloudy is this bad or good???
KB said its good but I don't know...
Tracey
I have waited, since I just started hatching chicks, until I can see absolutely nothing (clear) and the other eggs in the batch have lively very visible chicks. Thats what I do anyways
All I can see is cloudy all throw the egg and it rolls a little but does that mean it is alive??
Tracey
By day 7-10 you should see red spider veins and a dark center. Beyond day 14 it becomes harder to tell what is in the egg because the chick is becoming more solid and bigger. But you can usually see the air sac clearly at the top.
If it were me and by day 14 it was cloudy and soupy looking with no veining etc I would pitch it. I've had eggs turn nasty and it's not pretty if they explode.
I normally don't pitch anything before day 14 just in case I have misjudged.... if it's not developing a lot of times the egg will show clear with the yellow yolk just floating along as you rotate the egg.

Thank you Hart , I tried on another forum and it worked yaaaaay!
As for you and the eggs ,tracey, I wouldnt know, I never have luck incubating them. I have to let a mama do it! Seems to me that if you just leave them alone they will be fine! A little rub to move them a bit couple of times a day should be fine! My friend here that incubates Hundreds of eggs says her Pop used to just run his hand over them in the incubator , just enough to wiggle them, he never picked them up, and he hatched nearly all!
It must be rolling because of movement around it. Keep it and if 10-14 its clear meaning you see no red veins no dark bloob then its time to give it up. Make sure you roll 2-3 times a day, keep the temp regular, meaning don't open the incubator unless to roll them. And make sure you put the water in the correct spaces, thats important too.
I have only hatched three clutches and no one moved ever, maybe the guineas will be different! Good luck and if you want some silkies (day olds or eggs, I don't think its money wise to ship to pet bird) I would be more than happy to ship you some when they start laying or next spring which ever comes first (just for the shipping, if that!) The chicks I hatched are so cute! They have such feathered feet already!!!!
Good Luck and if you ever need something answered ASAP email me liveswithmaya@aol.com (maya is my first of 12 macaws)
Thank you LoraK, I will if I need any thing.
Tracey
