Need Help Hiding Boiler Vents - Lots of Help!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I just had a new boiler installed and look what the plumber did - he vented it through the front of my house! He swears it is the only place suitable for the venting. The straight pipe sends out the hot exhaust the other one is the intake. I emailed the company and they said that I can't plant ANYTHING in front of the pipes. What am I going to do? The exhaust in addition to being HOT makes smoke or steam or something white come out - like a cloud. If I had known ahead of time - I would have gotten a less efficient boiler that vented through my chimney. (I used a contractor - my girlfriend's husband - so I did my best to get a good job done - but failed. Sigh.) Any ideas on how to safely hide these gross pipes will be greately appreciated!
