Weird question about sexing chicks

Woodsville, NH

I was watching my newest bunch of keets and chickies tonight, they are all growing like weeds and was wondering if you could sex them (not 100 percent but a good indication) by the bone spread of thier pelvic bones. I think I will guess and write it down and then find out in the coming weeks. With parrots if the pelvic bones are close is a male and wider its a female, in a lot of species anyway, females after they lay of course have wider spaces and I was wondering if this was true in chick and keets. And of course depending on species and size it makes a difference

Hmmm , now that is another gooooood question! Keep Us informed Lora, that would be a good thing to know!

Maybe that's the reason for the difference in the roosters' and hens' walk when they're older. I forget who said in an earlier post roosters walk tall. Watch if you have grown chickens and you'll see what they meant.

Now this is very true! And they seem to do that at an early age!
