what am I thinking of?

This is a shrub/vine commonly seen in landscaping by front entry. Big leaf and kind of reminds me of a philodendron. Lots of landscaped homes have this plant in this neck of the woods. Maybe grows to 8-10 ft? I know some of you know exactly what I am talking about.

I know exactly what you are talking about, but for the life of me I can't think of it. I'll ask my bro and sil tomorrow as they have one.

or Japanese Aralia. Now if I can propagate a cutting or two. What do they sell for?

I think you can air-layer them. I haven't had success from cuttings. You can always buy them for sorta cheap in the tropical section. This one's Fatsia japonica 'Spiders Web'

Air-layering is for the smart and patient gardener. I will go shopping for a Japanese Aralia soon. thank you.

Aralia is what I was thinking of, too, although my mind was so darn blank I would never have come up with it!!!!
