After a few weeks of searching, I finially have 4 Narragansetts. We had to drive almost two hundred miles to get them and when we factor in the cost of the flat tire and the speeding ticket my husband got, I figure that they cost us about 50 bucks a piece. They better be tasty and lay lots of eggs.
Right now they are nice and cozy with a baby Canada goose that walked up to me in the yard yesterday . No clue where he came from. He must have heard that I rehabilitate wildlife and figured I was good for free room and board. Now the only problem is that he will grow up thinking he is a turkey. Oh well, last year I raised one that thought he was a chicken and he honked loudly every time we put them in for the night. It's never dull around here.
Thanks to all who helped me find the Narries. I finially got them from Vicky Pittman and her's are absolutely stunning.
