What! What happened???? I feel so bad
Two black lads jump over the poulrty wire and the chickens where out in the pin area just playing and we came home from shopping at walmart and they where laying on the ground deid and I just happend to look over by my fravorit tree where they go out and play and I found 3 Bared rocks alive...

That horrible, who's dogs were they? Thanks goodness atleast 3 made it. I am again so sorry for your loss. I would have lost it. We do all we can to keep our birds safe and sometimes it just doesn't work. Geeesh, I wish you people lived closer I have some silkies I would give you. (A lil fuzzy face always cheers me up!)
Do you still have the labs? I'd keep them and wait for the owner to come looking for them. Then, give him all the dead chickens and tell him you want him to replace them.
Usually if you call the town dog warden there is a fund that compensates owners for farm stock killed by loose dogs
Not that it helps emotionally but it may get you enough to get some new birds
Yes and make sure you do report them. They (the owners need to know and the authorities too) everyone (well most of us) have leash laws. They should pay, not just with money.

Oh my Heavens Tracey Honey , Im so sorry! You do just what the others say! You call your local Sheriff department and make a report! Let them see the dead Chicks and give the dogs description! You have to be reimbursed for those Hens and those Dog Owners will be Cited by the County you live in!

Tracey, I'm so sorry to hear what the dogs did. That makes me so mad at people who let their dogs run freely all over other people's property.
I had words just yesterday with my next door neighbor who has 2 black labs that were back by my chicken pens. She said she didn't believe her dogs had been back there. ......Like I lied ? Ugrrrrr.
I cornered one of the dogs behind the pen and he acted like he would bite me. I did manage to shoo him away before he got any of my chickens though.

I called the sheriff and he called the owner of the dogs and the owner came as fast as he could and the owner could not pay
and did not have records for the dogs so he Ordered the owner
to put the dogs down and the owner shot both dogs and ask NB my son if thats what he wanted NB said no and cryed Why kill my chickens??? But the owner turned and lefted the dogs laying
in my yard... the sheriff gave the owner a bigg fine and is taken to jail....This is Okay by me But killing and 2 dogs in front of my son OOO no that was a mistake In front of the sheriff too..
Jail time how has the soap don't bend over...LOLOLO... Here is my 3 babys left..

Oh tracey, Your poor baby, Im so upset ! That person was soooo wrong! He could have handled things in a more adult way,and just paid a monetary fine and given you well deserved apology. But what he chose to do instead was outrageous! He deserves the jail time! And I hope he has to sit there until trial, among other things he will most likely be charged with Child Cruelty, and that is Nothing to laugh at! I hope he has no one to bail him out too!

Yes I'm looking for chicks and can't find any .. I've looked everyware and all the farmers markets are not get any more chicks in so KB got an incubator for us and I have 1 silkie

My local grain elevator/feed store takes orders for chicks from McMurray's and when they get enough customer orders to total the 25 minimum, they place the order with McMurray. Any chance your local grain elevator/feed store does the same thing with McMurray or another supplier?? You need to replace 14 chickens, that's almost a full order....

Tracey, will your county fair be any time soon? I'll bet the people at the poultry exhibits will either have eggs or chicks you can buy or will know someone local who does.
The local Farm Bureau could probably give you names of farmers who have chicks as well.
We have a regional classifieds paper, nothing but classifieds, that almost always has people offering chicks or even full grown chickens for sale.
Tracey, apparently there is a Thrifty Nickel paper in your area. I searched their online site. Had to pick a city so I picked St. Joseph. Sorry, I know nothing about where anything is located in MO.

I've had good luck with the eggs I bought on ebay and eggbid for the most part. Better if you can buy locally but if not mail order isn't bad.

I wasn't suggesting you take him out of summer school. I'm sure he doesn't have summer school seven days a week 24 hours a day. You could pick them on the weekend or in the afternoon or evening after school.
Ya know cacklehatchery is in MO. I ordered from them. Got chicks, ducks and turkeys and was very pleased. I don't know how close they are to you or if you can pick up directly but even if you ship them it would most likely be next day delivery!!!

one day after summer school then he can get some school supply and maybe some chicks but KB said school supplys
