Melanie the rescue is trying to train us but we are having a hard time figuring out what she wants us to do. We would very much appreciate you giving us some hints as to the typical things she would have been trained to do.
The other day DH was walking Cherry Cookie, English Bulldog pup, out to her outdoor play pen, Melanie came galloping up with Cherry's sponge filled football. She would run a few steps and drop the ball. Ignoring where the ball went, she would make a big circle and then start "looking" for it, find it and run a few steps and start all over.
Today, I threw her a plastic wiffle ball and she caught it and brought it back close enough so that DH could toss it again.He could only play with her a few minutes (she hasn't had her final heartworm test...) but he did manage to take her picture waiting, catching and fetching!
I'm supposing that she's a frisbee kind of dog! Is it typical training to lay down to wait for the frisbee to be thrown??
She is almost manic in her searching for DH if he gets out of sight, do you have any ideas about this behavior.
Any ideas you might have would be greatly appreciated.
