My neighbor cut down 2 gum trees and now there are volunteer gum trees sprouting up everywhere, my yard included, from the roots. What can I do to kill the roots?
Volunteer Gum Trees
Tracy: Oh boy! I hope there's actually a way to do that. I have a little forest of volunteer gums that I mow down every couple of weeks. I'll be "watching this space" with you to see if there's a solution. :)

Mow them down for a year or two and they might not come back. Tracy that's a weed tree which grows like no tomorrow in the low country. You think about an internet site that sells gum trees? You could make some money off this. LOL. Really you need to dig them up or i guess you could try a big piece of plastic and try to cook them to death. Of course you'll kill everything else.
There's no easy way that I know of to get rid of gum tree seedlings.
