I went plant shopping again..

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I went to Homely Depot today and out of about 150 common run of the mill hibiscus I found this one! 6 inches wide, deep clear pink, hurts your eyes in the sun. Has very full growth habit. If any one has an idea to the name on this one let me know.I am gouing to start cuttings for tree standards of it.

Kyle, you and a couple of others here have made a complete hibiscus lover out of me. I have twenty some new ones counting the 5 that I ordered today.

OW OW OW OW!!!! CAN'T SEE!!!! PINK PINK PINK PINK!!!!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

It is not just bright, it is sort of, well, sensual. Are we allowed to post sexy pictures on this forum?

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I just wish we could put a name to it.

It is very pretty and very pink!!!

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

That pink is gorgeous!! The flower's so bright I gotta wear shades ;-) You must have a great HD, obviously unlike here...

I think you should cross this one with my bright colored Hot Bikini. On the other hand, maybe not - the offspring might be so bright it would cause eye damage, lol ;-)

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

That is a beauty! We have nothing here, just same ole', same ole'.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Was only two plants of this one among about 150 other common ones.I almost overlooked it.

Pays to look over things.

that is fantastic! I went to my HD today also... everything is WILTED! the girl at the register does not have time to water and nothing has been watered in at least 2 days.. it has been in the 80's each day and sunny.

Tammie, its like that at ALL HD's they don't pay anyone to water the plants but can afford to lose sales and throw them away...go figure!

I watered the two I was buying and then the ones that were around the hose. I really wanted to water everything!

I have felt the same about taking a bucket of water to Meyers, they have white birch trees and ornimental trees, have been growing for years to get that big, two clerks standing talking, nobody waters the trees etc. all summer, they just let them die and turn them back in for full refund.

Kyle: could that possibly that "Electric Blue" hibiscus, it is an electric pink color.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Not electric blue has a different growth habit and no blue on the edges.. Heres my electric blue.

Pretty too!

Hope you find a name for it, it is a beauty!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

So far no luck on a name.... has to be something?? :-)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Some grower must have let that one slip by.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Possible hybrid from seed? Whatever, it is, you are so lucky, I never run across anything that good!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Dave, thats it. Foliage and description is the same....now how did it get in a batch of common ones at HD.??
