The lupine and Siberian wallflower are a striking combination. Are they blooming now? I have never tried wall flower. Very nice. Your house is great for a cottage garden.

The lupine just started blooming there's more open today. The wallflower has been blooming for awhile. I WS'ed the seeds for both last year. They bloomed then but their even bigger and better this year.

The house was built in 1900. It's a Sears home from before they started their famous kit houses. They didn't supply the block , just the machine to make the block.

I have to take the blame for the colors. We need to paint again soon. The next paint job will probably be the same on the house when we sell in a few years. I think we need to use colors that are more traditional to have a better chance of finding a buyer. I love color and it just won't be the same with neutrals.

yah know normally i don't like the bright colors....but i truly love the colors of your house....it is a lovely cottage indeed:)

I like the wallflower and lupine, too. I'd love to try them from seed.

Your house looks like a jar of (smucker's) raspberry jam! ---I mean that in a good way! Lot's of fun!

Me too Maozamom - love seeing all the pics - and hope you have a wonderful Birthday!! And you've given me renewed hope for wallflowers :)

Orrville, OH(Zone 5b)

Thank you. We started the day by getting a truck load of composted horse manure, lots of shoveling . Later I planted three new hay rack type window boxes we've been procrastinating on buying. My grand kids are staying over night and brought me a devils trumpet they picked out and paid for their selves. My husband gave me a birdbath. Only another gardener can appreciate just how nice this day has been.

Yes how nice! It sounds similar to how I spent my birthday. In the garden : )
