Advice requested: Narrow columnar evergreens?

Georgetown, TX

Howdy all,
I was hoping someone might make a plant suggestion or two for me. I need a tall evergreen backdrop for my fountain. I was thinking of using three plants that get to no more than four or five feet in width when mature. That's all the space I have for them. (Height doesn't matter so much - anywhere in the 6' - 20' range is fine.)

I had really hoped to use the 'Blue Ice' Arizona Cypress but they eventually get to 10' wide. The Blue Point Juniper also comes close, but it can get to 8' wide as well. I was thinking of perhaps putting them in 30 gallon containers to control the spread, but I didn't know if that would work.

Anyway, does anyone know of anything that might work? An arborvitae perhaps? It'll need to be able to take full sun, though.

Much appreciated,
Noel

I have a couple of these that are still small, but I like them. They are the Ilex crenata, 'Sky Pencil'. They may be too narrow for your area, up to 2' wide.

The 'Sky Pencil' would definitely work in terms of space, good idea. I'd prefer the look of a conifer, but I'll go with the holly if I can't find a suitable needle leaf plant. Thanks!
