I have a good friend in our small town that has a small nursery...she loves to grow hoyas (many other things also) and she loves her sp.?? Epiphyllam...I will post some pictures of some of her things....I asked her if she would sell cuttings and she said yes....her prices are sooo reasonable.....i don't know if these pics special or not....maybe if you like hoyas you like all of them???
I don't know one thing about hoyas!!!!
I like the one in the fifth and sixth picture. Can you find out what it is?
Jeri
Jeri...I think those are of H. sp. DS-70.
She is out of town this weekend but i can ask her....she knows and even gave me notes, but i can't read my own writing and lost track of which picture was 1st, etc... I remember her holding the darker foliage on the ends of the trailers up against the older foliage to show the difference in color.
Thanks Carol I'll have to remember that one. It's not in the coop list under another name is it?
Nice looking plants...I lost my compacta because I put it outside too early last spring and it never recovered...it was a great specimen of the variety too, I am still not over the loss. I like those variegated compactas in the 4" pots...where does she sell them from?
Are you talking about the tri colored Hindu Ropes in the 4" pots...they are 3.99.....
The variegated small leaved one in the hanging baskets is 9.99 just like the regular size leaf variegated pot....
(I think the pots are 6" or 9"????)
i can go out there anytime....
This picture is off String of Hearts or Senecio.....she has 6" baskets that have runners over 3 feet long..........so pretty....she sells these 4" for 2.99 each
PS...I didn't see any 4" mini variegated hoyas planted....she might have them also....just have to check if that is the one you are talking about....she won't be back until Tuesday....
Do you mean the variegated miniature looking one, 3rd pic?
I have a few varieties of rosary vine, one like the ones pictured that is about 6 feet long, I have it on a high shelf, have had it for about 15 years, and one that has a pointier leaf that is still young...Love them, such cool plants! Easy to grow too. I believe that they are also related to hoyas.
That 3rd picture has tiny veriegated leaves....i don't know why she charges the same 9.99 for a smaller plant in the same size container....maybe it is because the tiny hoya is a newer plant???? if you decide you can't live without it, she would send it to you but i don't know what the postage would be????
The third photo down is of H. carnosa cv. 'Holliana'....at least, that is how it entered the world on ebay. Whether it was really published is don't know. They are readily found on ebay.
Aloha to you AlohaHoya....I don't mind helping someone if i can.....yes, the 3rd picture is the tiny leaf and, if you want, I will be happy to send you some cuttings of it, Bhavana34.....be back on this forum next week and find out if she will let me have cuttings..
gail
Have a good weekend....
Oh Gail I love the hoyas your friend is selling.
