After 12 days in chrysalis, the first of 3 Pipevine STs eclosed this morning.. It was a female, (I think), and s/he was really pretty!! I could really see the irredescent blue on this one being breand new. Usually by the time they come by the blue is not as visible (worn), on the top side of the lower wing, or the colors have flattened though still very vivid.
S/he was a sweet little one, she actually took her first drink from Duranta... then chose a little sip of Cosmos and then flitted off. I will post a few pics starting with her/him hanging in the chrysalis cage>
