I just changed from dial-up to cable...(yeah, yeah, I know..it's about time) anyway, the cable is one of those that gives you internet, tv and phone service all bundled together for alot less than I'm paying now.
Everything is set up and working...except my router and the internet on my laptop. I can access files from both computers and print stuff with no problem...so, the router is seeing and talking to the modem...the laptop just won't access the internet.
I can unplug the network cable from the back of the desktop and plug it in to the laptop and it works...but it won't if I try and access without being physically plugged in.
I use Firefox, but have tried IE too with no luck too.
My cable technician tried for a long time last night to make it work, but he had no luck...he's got to come back in the next day or two for other stuff and he's going to ask around and see if anyone has encountered this problem.
It has to be some sort of setting in the laptop , but we've not got a clue as to where to look.
My router is a Linksys 54T54G
