I check back every once in a while to get ideas for container gardening.......or post one.........it sits there day after day.....where are the people who really enjoy container gardening in and of itself?????
why aren't flowers in containers a big part of this forum???
I don't understand your question?
I have a lot of things in containers...glad to share ideas with you:)
We're on other forums and threads talking about "nothing-in-particular"! Proven Winners has a great website for putting together container combos and of course using their plants. I found it gives you some ideas even if you don't use their plants and you can use different color combinations. It gives you growing info on the plants and shows pictures so you can see how they look.
Yeah!!!!! This is exactly what I was asking about!!!! When I visit container gardening (personally) I love to see pictures of what people are planting.
Thanks so much.....I see you have used petunias with the tri colored sweet potato vine which is so pretty together....
It is too late for petunias in our heat but fun to see yours.
Don't you love that new one called tequilla sunrise??
WOW - I went to the Proven Winners website and boy - do they have the ideas! Can't wait to go shopping with the MidSouth group tomorrow - gots some idears......

I agree with you, gessiegail. Love to see the pictures.
I'm growing these Super Bells Cherry Red this year. Last year I had other flowers in with them, dwarf yellow snaps with the cream callies, and Diamond Frost euphorbia with purple callies. But this year I have two window boxes with just cherry red callies and one box with cherry red plus Strawberry Drop coleus. We'll see how it goes. I just love the callies!
thanks for the 'goodies' to see and admire!!
revclaus - I love the cream with eye. I'm going to look for that one and if I find it I'm sure I can make room for one more container!! I'ts beautiful!!!
I loved it too, but it was too light a color with only the sky as a background, so this year it's a deeper color! Good luck!
ladygardener1, I LOVE your choices of color.......really impressed that you grew coleus from seed!!
gail
ladygardener1, such a striking combination!
Thanks! I find coleus to be a great filler for containers, if your flowers give out you still have color and now there are so many different coleus you can't go wrong!
I think you have a good idea there.
keep your pretty pictures coming...fun......aalena, show your picture about 2 months from now and the pot will be full and tumbling over!!
Gee, you are in zone 5.....wow!!
Here are some others that I've planted.
I bought a couple of 6 packs of coleus to begin my containers. Then my sister and I went on a trip and I needed a place to park them so they'd get more water than in those little 6 pack containers. So I parked them in this container. They've all been moved since then. I thought it was quite pretty like this, but that wasn't the container I wanted to start with.
I found this waybigo pot on the side of the road. Not a thing wrong with it, but for the hideous looking mother-in-law tongues.
I removed them and parked my orchid tree in the center of it. Then put coleus and bluebonnets around it. I've added a couple of springs of portulaca since this photo was taken.
