Hi
I'm new to this website. Found it while searching the internet for treats for my chickens (and guinea fowl). I saw that someone had given their chickens fresh corn. I thought I was doing my chickens and guineas a big favor and presented them with an ear of corn and they never touched it.
Would it be better if I gave them dried corn to start with?
Any advice is welcome as I know very, very little and will soon have over 50 hens, so I want to keep them healthy and happy.
This is a really cool website!!!!!

corn treats for chickens
Hi Rosana!!! Welcome to your lovers of the feathered friends Society!!! We are happy to have you!
As for the corn treats ,I believe it was suggested to use frozen corn kernals, but Im sure if you used fresh Cut Kernals (instead of fresh on the Cob) your Chickies would be delighted!

THat's so weird. I give my gals fresh corn on the cob, or even corn we've already eaten, as they pick off the remaining tiny pieces. Maybe they didn't recognize it as food. I tried to give my chicks a strawberry and they all were so afraid of the strawberry! LOL! can you believe it? Eventually they did figure it out :)
