WANTED TROPICAL HIBISCUS SEED

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

I would love to trade for any tropical hibiscus seed. I have several different types of datura for your hibiscus. Thanks!

Houston, TX(Zone 10a)

I'd love to, however I don't know how to collect seeds from the hibiscus, I always make the cuttings from them.

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Do you have rooted cuttings? I'd love to trade for some. Thanks!

Houston, TX(Zone 10a)

Not at the moment, I planted them at one of the properties I manage. It wouldn't take very long to get them going though. Probably a week or two. We have Red, Yellow, and these ones that fade from a deep red in the middle to a coral on the outer rim..really pretty... send me a dmail, i get pretty busy and forget to check threads sometimes

Jamshedpur, India(Zone 10a)

Hi! Dollie
What colour tropical hibiscus cutting do you like to have.
I shall be glad to send you some.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

How you folks rooting the hibiscus? I'm going to give it a try this year and would like to do it the easy way without the trial and error.

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

I have one with a variegated leaf and red flowers and a green leaf with peach flowers. Cuttings only unless you are willing to wait for air layers.

Corehhi- use rooting hormone and if you do not have a misting sytem try to keep the humidity as high as possible.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

I was think of using plastic coke bottles with potting soil, some perlite and rooting hormone then sealing it all up and putting it in a shady spot.

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

I used that often in colllege. Works very well in lieu of a misting system for many things. Don't forget to poke holes for aeration.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

If you are still looking, I have some of the "Sweet Hibiscus"... a pale yellow.

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks Jasmine, Funa4flora, & Donna for your kind offer! I went to Forest Hill and found alot of the tropical hibiscus a couple of months ago. I now have a good supply. Lol, still none that look as gorgeous & flamboyant as some of the DGer's grow.

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

So glad you got hooked up! I just got some seeds for Hibiscus sabdariffa 'Jamaican Cocktail Red' - and man, they germinated like the next day. May have some extra seedlings/plants to share in several weeks if you ever trade plants.

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks! I would be very interested in a trade. PLMK

Marysville, CA(Zone 9a)

I would love some of any seeds/cuttings
All mine got wiped out from an unexpected hard frost last fall
had some real beauties from a member of the hibiscus association, he pollinates his own and cross breeds them too
I was very upset and heartbroken to loswe all of mine

So if anyone wants to trade for postage, I am desperately willing

Cannagirl,

Oh that would be wonderful! thank you so much!
I will have to wait till Aug to paypal you for postage, I just got home from an out of town Family Emergency, and am strapped for funds at the moment, gas there and back really hit the pocket book.
If you can wait till then, email me an invoice to lavenderdragon2@hotmail.com
that is also my paypal billing address
Again thank you very much for your kind offer!

Jasminebugli, I dont have any access to a Venus Fly Trap, but good luck and if I hear anything I will let you know.

Marysville, CA(Zone 9a)

CannaGirl, gonna have to wait on those plants, cant do it financially right now
Will check back with you in Sept.

Thank You
Lavender

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Lavender, That will be fine......I can send them now if you like. PLMK!
It's a shame about gas prices!!! I think it's starting to hurt alot of use moneywise. Lol, I'm thinking about riding my horse to work.....Adding a sign to my horses rump telling the oil companies to "KISS THIS" :)

Jasmine, I can send you another Venus Fly Trap, but these are hard to transplant as Lavender said. It takes about two weeks or longer for me to send a package to India, and that maybe too long a time period for the fly traps to in transit. Please Dmail me if you want to try again.

Cannagirl

I havent recieved an email or the plants yet
just wanted to let you know

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Lavender, Just ran across this post. I don't understand why you didn't get your email, but one was sent. Your address isn't in the exchange, so I can't send anything unless you email me your address.

I was having computer problems where my computer would just freeze up sometimes in the process of sending mail, so that might be our problem in this mis-communication. Very sorry! I'll get your plants out ASAP as soon as I hear from you. A SASE can be sent to me when you get the chance.

Dollie
