A friend of mine had this huge, tree, but it looks like ivy, the leaves are about 8 inches across the widest point. She just calls it tree ivy, but someone else said they thought it might be a philo.
If any of you could shed some light on this subject it would be appreciated. It is also very hard to root. I tried and got some new growth, but then it died.
Sandra
Do you know what tree ivy is??
Could it be this one? x Fatshedera lizei, common name is tree ivy

There are several cultivars and this was the only one that had pics in Plant Files, so don't pay too much attention to the leaf color, there are other cultivars with different color leaves.
Very possible, I had searched for tree ivy and could not find anything. There is very little information there, do you know anything more about how to root?
Thanks
Sandra
You could try Googling the name of the plant. I don't know anything about it other than the name, I just typed Tree Ivy into the common name field in Plant Files and this came up.
Hi Sandra are you talking about a pothos. Some people around here call it an ivy tree. The leaves get hugh and it looks like an ivy.
Jeri
Jeri, I am talking about the ivy tree at Libby's. I don't know if you had allready left when we saw it, but she called it tree ivy.
I thought you said philo, olo, see how my brain is--I will look up pothos.
Just to tell the truth, I don't know what I am talking about--lol
Sandra
I must have already left by the time yall got to the tree ivy. You know me Sandra I may have gotten my P's mixed up. Philo ...Pothos? LOL I think it's pothos and if you want some I'll bring it for the DL opening. Mine gets leaves about 9"-10" across.
Jeri
Jeri, does it have to come inside for the winter? If not I would love a start of it. Libbys is a tree, it might not survive the winter here, but it is something that would be unusual here. I think I am going to have to give up on the palms, The first one has not sprouted any new leaves ( guess that would be fornds) and the second one is turning brown.
I tried--I really tried--snif-snif
Sandra
Don't give up yet. It's been cooler up there than here and I'm pretty sure the heat is what makes them pop. Let them alone and they will be fine.
Jeri
Sandra is this the plant that Libby has?

Jeri
Ok, I will believe what you said--I will not worry-I will not worry-I will not worry.
I just hate when I ask somebody for something and then I can't get it to grow. I guess that is what you get when you are a zone pusher--lol
Sandra
Hers looks more like a tree, it is more full around the base.
got to go Judy is here and she has a doc appt.
