Anyone use the PetSafe Deluxe Little Dog Training Collar?

I'm thinking of getting one for Ollie (aka Minion of the Devil). I know a lot of people really don't like the idea of these collars, but the boy will just not listen. If you've used something like this on your dog(s), please let me know if you're pleased with the results or not. I've read the reviews and the only negatives were that the batteries were short lived. There was also a review from one person who said that they've been using the device on their dog for 2 years (yikes) with not very good results. I was wondering whether that person was just a brick short of a full load or does it really take that long to get the point across to some dogs. Most people raved about it.
