On the Southwest Gardening Forum, azrobin pointed out that the cargo mats were on sale at Harbor Freight. I went to that Website and decided to order one for the trunk of my car. Thought y'all might be interested too. Here are the links.

Cargo Mats
I highly recommend these. I have bought Cargo Mats (actually from the dealer though) for my last two vehicles and I now would not be without them. It's great to go to the nursery and not have to use their paper from the rolls. And then when you get home, you just pick up the mat and shake it out and occasionally run a hose over it. No dirt messes to clean up from tipped plants.
And at the price they are at harbor freight, it's a steal!
Hope they have them in the stores too. I have one just down the road from me. Thanks Posie.
Thanks for tip! I drove to our Harbor Freight, but they said those were only available on the website. Maybe other stores do carry them. I'll order a couple. In my car I have a full trunk one from the dealer, but I use the inside of my DH's beloved truck sometimes! Hope they'll work in there.
I went to HF today and they only had the small one, but it was only $5!! I can get two for the price of shipping and 1 large one on the site. I haven't bought them yet, because I want to measure my SUV area and see what the size difference was. I think I will be headed back tomorrow.
Posie, if you haven't bought one yet, I found it at the location off of Grandbury Rd. Oh, and they feel like the foam meat trays, but flexible. Also, they are very light and roll up for storage.
what a great tip, thanks. I'll go ck it out.
edited to add: great gift idea also

Hadn't thought about that, but I have a gardening friend with a BD coming up soon.
