veriegated

Dripping Springs, TX(Zone 8b)

I recently recieved a veriegated brug from a fellow DGer. Unfortunately it was unnamed and a cutworm got it. I would like to purchase another as I was intrigued by the color the veriegation added to the landscape. I am am hoping to get opinions on which one to purchase.

There are a few different ones
---
Axelrose - light and dark green - frosted pink flower
---
Maya / SUNSET- dark green and white , dirty white , cream to kind of pinkish edges of leaves - probably what you want . APPROIT COLOR FLOWER
---
Jamie - dark green and white , yellow flower
---
Grazie variegata - dark green and white , dirty white , cream - white flower - I don't think this one is in the US
---
Make sure you get a cutting after Y . otherwise it could be 2 or 3 years before you see a flower .
A few more , maybe someone else will post their names .
The colors will depend on your soil , water , sun - deeper , lighter
Good luck .

I really like the colors in Snowbank's leaves -- green and then cream and white on the edges. Mine is still a baby and probably won't see it bloom this year, because it seems to be a slow grower, but the foliage makes up for that. http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/16434/

Yes..IL... Snowbank has to be the prettiest of all of them... I had to get a new one this year..but I'd imagine it to bloom before fall.. perhaps yours will also... they say it's a dificult one.. but I had one for a number of years and it was fine... till it up and died the winter before.. growing inside..

I think Snowbank is the prettiest too as far as the variegation though I bet it burns the easiest too. Maya is so easy to grow except for the cats that will eat it alive and I love the green blue color.

I am growing Jamie and so far it is easy but the variegation is not that great. Could be just my piece. I used to grow Variegata Suaveolens but that one the white flowers did not thrill me and the leaves were a bit dull and very mite prone.

Maya is so pretty when the leaves are new.

I think Snowbank is the prettiest by far. I haven't gotten a bloom yet, but she is so fuzzy and cute, I don't care!
My top pick would have to be Jamie... Her leaves are not as pretty as Maya or Snowbank, but still nice. I bought a cutting a few months back. It has grown to 4' tall and already has Y's and blooms. Takes the full sun that MANY of my stronger all green brugs can't tolerate at all. Roots like a DREAM.. even tiny cuttings. Resists bugs quite well.. it's a great brug for me anyway! I LOVE the striped buds..
I love Maya dearly and it is amazingly beautiful, but it's a little too fussy for me.. She didn't bloom for me last year, and never got over 2' tall.. just had a hard life. She is a Caterpillar magnet..
I have Sunsport that is green on green variegated, a little slow growing, but very tolerant to full sun.. which is amazing to me, cause I have several brugs that have fried leaves in our full sun. (Full morning sun.. shade by 2pm) it's intense.
