Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

This is a continuation of the other thread that is getting a little long for dial-up folks. Here are some things blooming now. This is 'Jeanette,' a new compact tree from Florida Colors:

Lastly, for now, this is 'Spidery Yellow' from Singapore, not looking very spidery at the moment! LOL! These are first blooms during overcast days!

Beautiful. Will my plumerias be OK at 50's and 60's in temps. That is what we have had for days.. overcast, occasional moments of moisture... not enough to call rain. They are not getting any water fromthe rain but I did water them the day before all this started. I am starting to get worried. Absolutely no inflos on anything.

Tammie, they will be fine at those temps. May Gray and June Gloom is common here, and it doesn't seem to bother them as long as they are not sitting in water. Cold/damp conditions can bring about black tip to those cultivars that are susceptible to it, like 'Singapore' and a few others. Don't worry. They will be fine. You will have inflo's as soon as the heat arrives, I am sure.

thank you for the reassurance. It was in the 80 last week... I already miss that. Of course, in August, I will be pining for more days like today. LOL

Oh boy Clare! Your displays are wonderful!

The colour of Jana's curly pink looks so deep - almost red. Lovely!

Thanks, Teresa! That 'Jana's' bloomed all winter long in the greenhouse where it was hot and steamy most of the time during the day. It was a dark red in there. Heat seems to bring out the color red. Here's a pic below.

Geesh! You have to change her name to "red" rather than "pink". It's a wonderful colour!

That was my thought too:-)

Clare, I love them all but that Grove Farm is spectacular. Love the way the red in the center looks veined. Like the Jana's curly pink with her
red do for the winter. That dark red was the color of my 1st plummie I gave away, then I was so sorry. LOL But I couldn't get it to bloom
anyway.
Thank you for starting the new thread.

Thanks, Jackie. That Grove Farm is so interesting and smells great. It does a twisty thing sometimes with the petals. It is definitely one of my favorites. The 'Jana's Curly Pink' is a great color, but it has little to no fragrance. There is one that is very similar called 'Angus Selection #3,' and that one has a great fragrance. It also looks similar to one called 'Japanese Lantern,' but I'm not sure if that one has much of a fragrance as mine hasn't bloomed yet. I think the reds in general tend to be light on fragrance.
